The Matie Men's Plakkie – Our first Plakkie design celebrates an inland destination: the historic town of Stellenbosch and its renowned university.

Students of Stellenbosch University go by the nickname “Matie,” which comes from the Afrikaans word maat (mate or friend). Students originally adopted the term at the South African College, the precursor to the University of Cape Town.
