RYD First Time Soft Top - The First Time model is the brainchild of RYD Ambassador Caio Ibelli. When he’s not competing on the WSL Championship Tour or cooking at Ibelli Burgers, Caio enjoys long walks on the beach, cuddling puppies, and surfing twin fins.

This board is inspired by the first board Caio ever shaped. It has a cheeky swallowtail with pronounced wingers, which helps the rail transition into the narrow tail area. As a result, the board has extra drive and more precision through turns.

The single concave under the front foot flows into a double concave toward the fin area. This design lets you ride the board in a wide variety of conditions. Caio has used it from small beach breaks in Brazil to fun waves at Backdoor Pipe and Off the Wall in Hawaii.

The First Time comes in three sizes: 5'2" (26.3L), 5'7" (31.8L), and 5'9" (34.3L). Each board includes a set of small, rigid plastic fins. However, we recommend upgrading to the RYD Fiberglass Road Movie or Honeycomb Hank Dude fins for the best performance.

This board feels amazing under your arm. It is super light. The refined rails and quality finish make it feel like a real surfboard. We believe every surfer should have a twin fin in their quiver. While we might be biased, this is a great place to start.
