Hull design

• The Albatross’ hull delivers exceptional stability and balance, comfortably accommodating heavier paddlers in either the front or back seat.

• A long waterline maximizes speed, while a touch of rocker and a sloped bow keep it maneuverable and able to climb over waves.

• Full-length hull grooves enhance structural rigidity and improve tracking performance.

• Convex sidewalls blend seamlessly into rounded rails, optimizing secondary stability and resisting side impacts from rocks and waves.

• The Albatross comes standard without a rudder, but you can add one if needed. Most paddlers manage the Albatross easily without a rudder; you’ll mainly need one in significant swells or strong winds.

Deck design

• The Albatross’ deck stays clean and lean while incorporating all the features you need for high functionality.

• The bow boasts substantial volume, punching through and over waves with ease. The midsection sits relatively high to keep rides dry and to help keep paddlers inside when hitting rocks or waves. The stern slopes down to reduce wind interference. The lower stern also makes it easier for swimmers to grab the back handle and climb aboard from the rear.

• Two identical open cockpits sit widely spaced to prevent paddle interference, allowing paddlers of any size to comfortably occupy either the front or back position.

• Extended paddle cutaways support a comfortable, efficient paddling style despite the boat’s generous width.

• Hull-matching indents on the deck make the Albatross stackable—perfect when you manage a fleet.

• Off-center front and back handles improve carrying ergonomics given the hull’s width and accommodate rudder installation. Dual side handles on each side make solo manhandling easier and assist with re-entry after swimming.

• 10″ hatches give access to internal storage compartments. These hatches sit recessed in shallow “tankwell”-style indents, creating extra on-deck storage space.

• D-rings let you attach backrests. The seats offer maximum comfort and support without backrests, but you can easily add them if you prefer. Extra D-rings also allow for thigh straps, recommended for rougher conditions.
